Meet our Leadership Team:
Pastor | Denny Smith
Pastor Denny Smith and his wife Carolyn have been serving at Valley for over 20 years. Their ministry here began in October of 2003 with a faith-filled move from Garland, Texas.
Their goal in ministry is to honor and glorify God through shepherding and discipling His people at Valley Baptist Church.

Pastor D came to Valley with his family in 2012 to serve as Co-Pastor.
Heather is our Worship Administrator and leads our Women’s Ministry.
Family Pastor | Paul Herrold

Pastor Paul and his wife Sarah have been faithfully serving with their family as founding members of Valley since 2003. He joined our pastoral staff as Marriage and Family Pastor in 2022.
Student Pastor | Jeremy Bell
Pastor J and his wife Erin have been serving at Valley as Student Pastor since 2021.
Jeremy moved to Valparaiso from New Jersey in 2019. He and Erin were married at Valley in November of 2020 and began their work in Student Ministry in June of 2021.
Childrens Director | Meredith Snyder

Meredith has been serving as our Children’s Director since 2021. She and her family have been faithful members of Valley since 2017.
History of Valley
Originating in March of 2003, Valley was founded by a few families who wanted to build a church where they could follow Christ in community with other believers. They started holding services in homes, the fire station, and then at the Washington Township Elementary School in Valparaiso. Pastor Denny Smith and his wife Carolyn came to Valley in October of 2003 with his son, Pastor “D” and his family following in 2012 as co-pastor.
God has since blessed us with a beautiful building, a thriving church body, and a plan for future expansion. With every stage of our ministry, we strive to reach Northwest Indiana through weekly worship and the intentional fostering of Christian community through events and life groups.
